Johor Bahru, – STACK Infrastructure, a leading global data center developer and operator, has officially entered the Malaysian market by establishing a 220 MW data center campus in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru. This initiative is part of STACK’s strategic expansion across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, reinforcing its presence in one of the fastest-growing digital markets, (14/1).
Johor’s strategic location has made it a prime destination for hyperscalers, offering scalable power, robust Southeast Asian connectivity, government incentives, and competitive operational costs. Spanning 10.8 hectares, the campus is designed to support cloud and AI/ML workloads, with initial delivery planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The campus will feature two main buildings with a total area of 1 million square feet. The first facility, a two-story data center with a 120 MW capacity, will be complemented by a second facility offering an additional 100 MW. The project will be powered by a 275 kV electrical infrastructure provided by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), ensuring reliable and scalable energy supply.
STACK APAC CEO Preet Gona expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion, stating, “We are excited to bring STACK’s proven expertise to Malaysia, one of the fastest-growing data center markets in APAC. This campus will enable us to meet the strategic needs of our clients in both established and emerging Tier 1 markets.”
Connectivity and Flexibility are key aspects of this project. Located just 10 minutes from the Malaysia-Singapore border, the campus offers redundant fiber access and connectivity to various telecom networks. With flexible deployment options such as build-to-suit, shell, and turnkey solutions, the facilities are designed to meet the diverse needs of hyperscale clients.
This milestone marks a new chapter in STACK’s APAC expansion, complementing its presence in major markets like Australia, Japan, and South Korea. STACK remains committed to supporting local economic growth and delivering cutting-edge digital infrastructure.
